I qualified as a lawyer in the UK in 1998 and have been providing employment law advice to UK and international clients since then.
I generally act for employers – from small start up companies to listed multinationals. I also act for individuals in relation to contractual arrangements, work place disputes and severances.
I provide the full range of employment law advice, from day-to-day HR issues to issues arising from complex cross-border transactions. I have an established global network of employment law advisers. My experience includes advising on collective consultation and redundancies, handling discrimination and unfair dismissal claims, representing UK and US companies in the English and Scottish Employment Tribunals, advice on international assignments and advising the Bahraini government on labour reform and primary legislation. I advise on compensation and incentive arrangements for senior executives and on global share plans. I also advise on European and global transactions including due diligence, restructuring and TUPE. In addition, I regularly advise individuals on their settlement agreements (formerly known as compromise or severance agreements).
I have hosted seminars and conferences on employment law issues in Europe and the US and spoken at tax and industry specific conferences on labour law. In recent years I have worked on the merger integration of two multinational businesses in Switzerland and in the UK. I have contributed to Butterworths Forms and Precedents. I have published widely on employment law, food and travel in Employment Law Journal, Food & Travel, Restaurant and Hotel & Caterer magazines.
I am an Australian and British national and my mother tongue is English. I also speak German, Swiss-German, intermediate Spanish and Turkish, some French and Italian.
What else? … In my spare time, I’m a qualified rescue diver and pursue numerous interests including distance swimming, kayaking, and am a passionate foodie.
